One of my hobbies is walking battlefields and that will probably be the major source of posts. Plus I will post about other things that spark my interest, from oddities found while researching to observations on the war.

51st Indiana

On back of monument:
51st Infantry
Commanded by Col. Abel D. Streight.

This regiment was detailed by Brig. Gen. James A. Garfield, at Savannah, Tennessee, to guard and bring up the brigade train, and also the division supply train, and was not engaged at Shiloh.

And when I'm on a battlefield I really walk it. I like to go someplace and take a week to walk everything, get a feel for everything, and take a ton of pictures.
