Another panoramic, this time showing the view from the Union artillery position on dyer Ridge. This one moves right to left, south to north. Lytle Hill is on the far right of the first picture. The area where hood was wounded is in the center of the second picture. As you can see, the ground is fairly open and flat (constant slope). No swales that an attacking line could disappear in.
